BT Now® Biological Insecticide — 1 Gallon

BT Now from BioSafe Systems is a water-based biological insecticide formulated with a novel strain of Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. kurstaki (Btk) for highly effective control of caterpillars and other Lepidoptera larvae on a wide variety of crops. OMRI listed for certified organic production.

Mode of Action

Btk produces natural insecticidal endotoxins called “cry toxins.” When consumed by larval-stage Lepidoptera, these toxins bind to specific receptors in the insect's gut, immediately disrupting and paralyzing digestive function. Feeding stops within hours of ingestion. Btk spores then enter the body, proliferate, and kill the pest within 2–5 days.

How should BT NOW be used?

Bacillus thuringiensis ssp. kurstaki products have a long history of safe and effective use in agriculture, forestry, and ornamental pest management. When applied properly, Btk products control lepidoptera larvae as well as traditional synthetic chemistries while also preserving beneficial species.

BT NOW is most effective on young, actively feeding larvae. For optimal results, employ early scouting programs to identify target caterpillar infestations and apply at first signs of feeding or when scouting program identifies pest presence. Cover foliage thoroughly to ensure product is consumed by the pest. Repeat applications when necessary to maintain control.
