FibreDust 5 kg NAKED Coconut Coir Blocks provide compressed coconut coir peat for greenhouse, container, and hydroponic production. Hydrate and loosen the coir before filling your growing containers or preparing a substrate blend.

Product specifications

• Compressed block weight: 5 kg.
• Growing medium: Coconut coir peat.
• Approximate expanded yield: The existing product specifications list 60–65 liters per block. Actual yield depends on hydration and handling.

Choose a block format for your operation

Compressed blocks offer a compact format for storage and transport, with the flexibility to fill containers after expansion. Plan hydration space and handling capacity around your production volume. Compare expanded substrate volume rather than compressed weight alone when estimating how many containers a block will fill.

Hydration and preparation

Place the block in a clean container large enough for full expansion. Add water gradually according to the manufacturer's current instructions. Allow the coir to hydrate throughout, then gently separate and fluff the medium before use. Check for dry areas rather than relying on a fixed hydration time.

Review current washing, buffering, and EC specifications before planting and setting initial fertility targets. If blending with perlite or another substrate component, choose the proportions to suit container geometry, drainage, and your irrigation program.

Coco fertigation management

Use a nutrient program appropriate for coco-based production and your source-water quality. Monitor root-zone moisture, EC, and pH as plants develop. Adjust irrigation to crop demand, substrate properties, and growing conditions.
