Haifa Micro™ FeK-DTPA 11% — Chelated Iron Fertilizer
A premium DTPA-chelated iron fertilizer delivering 11% soluble iron for rapid correction and prevention of iron deficiency in hydroponics, fertigation, and soil applications. Unlike most Fe-DTPA fertilizers — which use sodium as the counter-ion — Haifa Micro FeK-DTPA is complexed with potassium, eliminating sodium loading in your nutrient solution. A critical advantage in recirculating systems, high-EC environments, and sodium-sensitive crops.
Guaranteed Analysis
| Iron (Fe), chelated by DTPA | 11% |
| Potassium (K₂O) | 9% |
| Potassium (K elemental) | ~7.5% |
Chelating agent: DTPA (diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid). Iron remains plant-available at pH 4.0–7.0.
Key Benefits
- Potassium-complexed, not sodium — adds beneficial K⁺ instead of Na⁺; no sodium accumulation in recirculating or closed systems
- Prevents and corrects iron deficiency — rapidly resolves interveinal chlorosis and stunted growth
- DTPA chelation for maximum bioavailability — iron stays plant-available across a wide pH range (up to ~7.0)
- Absorbed rapidly and completely — suitable for both foliar and root-zone application
- Ideal for hydroponics and fertigation — fully water-soluble, compatible with most nutrient programs
- Recommended for acidic to neutral soils (pH 4.0–7.0)
About Iron in Plant Nutrition
Iron is essential for chlorophyll synthesis, cell division, and electron transport in photosynthesis. Deficiency appears as interveinal chlorosis on young leaves — yellowing between the veins while veins remain green. DTPA chelation keeps iron soluble and plant-available even as pH fluctuates, making it the preferred form for precision nutrient programs.
Application Rates
| Method | Rate | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Fertigation (preventive) | 10–20 g / 100 L | Apply weekly or as needed |
| Fertigation (corrective) | 20–40 g / 100 L | Apply 2–3x per week until corrected |
| Hydroponics | 15–25 g / 1,000 L | Targets ~1–3 ppm Fe in solution |
| Foliar (preventive) | 50–100 g / 100 L | Spray to runoff; apply early morning or evening |
| Foliar (corrective) | 100–200 g / 100 L | Repeat every 5–7 days until symptoms resolve |
Refer to the Technical Data Sheet for crop-specific recommendations. Always calibrate to your target Fe ppm using an EC meter or nutrient analysis.
Compatibility & Handling
- Add last to your nutrient solution after other salts are dissolved and diluted
- Do not premix with concentrated phosphate or sulfate solutions — dilute first to avoid precipitation
- Store in a cool, dry place in a sealed container; hygroscopic — reseal immediately after use
- Compatible with most water-soluble fertilizers and nutrient programs when properly diluted
