Fine-Textured Growing Mix for Seed Starting and Cuttings

Ferti-Lome Seed & Cutting Mix is a lightweight, fine-milled growing medium designed for germinating seeds and rooting leaf, stem and root cuttings. The 16-quart package is a practical option for propagation trays and small containers.

Product Details

• Brand: Ferti-Lome.
• Package volume: 16 qt.
• Texture: Fine-milled and lightweight.
• Components: Peat blend, including black peat, with fine perlite and a wetting agent.
• Intended use: Seed germination and cutting propagation.

Moisture Retention and Air Space

The peat blend helps retain moisture while perlite contributes air space. The wetting agent helps the mix wet more evenly. Successful propagation still depends on suitable irrigation, drainage, temperature and sanitation; growing media alone do not prevent root disease.

Getting Started

Follow the package directions for preparing and moistening the mix. Use clean trays or containers with drainage, and follow crop-specific guidance for sowing depth or cutting placement. Keep the medium appropriately moist without leaving it continuously saturated.

Plan seedling and cutting nutrition according to the crop, rooting stage and package guidance rather than assuming the mix supplies a complete fertilizer program.
