What is Monterey Nematode Control?

Monterey Nematode Control is used for the control of plant parasitic nematodes in home gardens and lawns. It is a liquid, naturally-occurring product, Saponins of Quilloja Saponaria, which comes from the bark of a South American tree called Quilloja. It is OMRI approved. 

How is Monterey Nematode Control Used?

Mix the desired amount with water and spray or soil drench to treat the area. Irrigate the soil before treatment. Lightly irrigate the area again after treatment. For trees and shrubs, apply to at least 1/2 the area of the drip line of the tree or to the entire area under the canopy of the tree. A single application can be made in the spring during early root growth and again in the fall after harvest. For other plants, apply to the entire growing area of the plant. Apply every 7–14 days for up to 10 weeks in the spring, followed by a single application after harvest.

How do I use in on lawns?

Apply with 9 oz in 3-7 gallons of water per 1000 sq. ft. Repeat every 5–10 days or 2–4 times within 60 days. Do not water for 12 hours after application.

What plants can I use Monterey Nematode Control on?

It can be used pre-planting, or on established plants such as berries, citrus, grapes, nut trees, fruit trees, cole crops, cucurbit crops, fruity vegetables, leafy vegetables, bulb vegetables, root and tuber vegetables, ornamentals and lawns. It can be used up to the day of harvest.

What rate do I use?

The normal rate is 8 oz of Monterey Nematode Control in 6 gallons of water per 1000 sq ft.

What precautions should be observed?

Apply solution within 3 hours once it has been mixed with water. Don't apply if heavy rains are expected within 24 hours as it could move the product past the root zone. Don't use with beneficial nematodes.
