Low Biuret Does Not Mean Universal Foliar Suitability

Biuret is a manufacturing byproduct of urea. R. L. Mikkelsen's 1990 review, Biuret in urea fertilizer, describes crop-specific differences in tolerance and greater sensitivity to foliar exposure than to soil application. Repeated foliar applications may also have cumulative effects.

The 0.5% maximum biuret specification is a product-quality limit, not a guarantee that every crop can tolerate a foliar spray. For foliar use, confirm that this grade meets the crop's biuret requirements and follow a crop-specific spray concentration and application program. Do not treat the listed solubility as an application rate.
