Neem Cake

Neem cake is the byproduct of cold-pressed neem seed oil extraction and is used as an organic soil amendment and pest deterrent in greenhouse operations, controlled environment agriculture (CEA), and certified organic farms.

Incorporated into growing media or applied as a top dressing, neem cake releases azadirachtin and other neem compounds slowly into the root zone — suppressing soil-dwelling insects including fungus gnat larvae, shore flies, root aphids, and certain nematodes. It also provides a modest nitrogen contribution as it breaks down.

Neem cake is a valuable addition to any organic IPM program, particularly for growers managing persistent soil pest pressure in container or soilless production systems.
