Concentrated pH up, not pH down

Potassium hydroxide is an alkaline material used to raise pH where the application specifies KOH. It contributes potassium, so include the correction in your overall nutrient balance. It is not a complete fertilizer, and it is not interchangeable with potassium carbonate, dry KOH flakes, or acidifying products.

Use the stated 45% concentration and current supplier specification when planning treatment. Starting pH alone does not determine a universal application rate. Follow a product-specific procedure, verify a small test adjustment with appropriate measurement, and monitor the solution over time.

Dispensing and handling

This is a concentrated caustic material for users equipped to handle it. Review the current safety data sheet for protective equipment, compatible materials, dilution, storage, and spill response. Do not mix concentrated potassium hydroxide with acids or assume compatibility with fertilizer stock solutions.

The plastic drum pump is suitable for liquid potassium hydroxide as well as sulfuric and phosphoric acid. Follow the pump instructions and use separate, dedicated equipment for acids and alkalis to prevent cross-contamination.
